Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti on Tuesday said persons with one disability or the other in the state, especially the literate ones are henceforth to enjoy priority attention by government.

The governor, who spoke at a ceremony to mark his 56th birthday at the Government House ground in Ado Ekiti, said he deliberately chose to mark the day with the disabled from across the 16 local governments because of his passion for the downtrodden.

He said he felt fulfilled celebrating the day with them, believing that such a development would instill hope in the hopeless.

According to him, every member of the society must be given equal opportunity to access government facilities.

He announced that disabled persons were henceforth to be included on the protocol list of government, while invitations to public functions would be extended to them through their various associations.

Fayose said the special gestures would include adequate funding of schools for the handicapped, provision of pensionable employment, offer of political appointment, as well as inclusion of reasonable number on the list of those to be paid monthly stipend under the social security programme of the state.

Earlier, Omotola Ezekiel, the Chairman of theNational Association of Persons with Disabilities, Ekiti chapter, had expressed gratitude to the governor “for lifting the gates of the Government House for members of the Association.”

He disclosed that though a total of 10 disabled persons had so far been employed by the Fayose administration, more should be employed.

He said “we have more than 500 members with NCE certificate and over 1,000 below NCE
yearning for gainful employment in the state

Bishops Oyedepo’s second daughter, Joy Oyedepo has landed in soup after recording a ‘miracle’ where she prayed and both her arms grew to equal length.

In the beginning part of the video, Joy appears to stretch both her arms and one seemed to be longer than the other. She then proceeds to pray to God asking him to heal a ‘disc’ in her back responsible for the ‘inequality’ in arm length. Like sumerian magic, her right arm grows longer and equals her left arm in length!

Canon and Derek Minor put a hip-hop spin on Richard Pryor’s 1985 comedy Brewster’s Million for their video for “Over Do It” from Canon’s Loose Canon Vol. 3 album on Reflection Music Group that debuted at No. 5 on iTunes’ Hip Hop Albums chart. 

In Brewster’s Million, Pryor’s character receives a $300 million dollar inheritance from an unknown uncle. In “Over Do It,” Canon is informed that his Uncle Brewster has left him $5 million.

Throughout the video directed by Will Thomas, Canon and Minor go wild, blowing through the money, purchasing a house, cars, an in-home theatre, custom decorations and vintage instruments before the narrative takes a surprise, comical twist.

Canon says he is a fan of the Pryor classic. “I’ve seen Brewster’s Million and loved the concept of inheriting more money than I could ever account for,” he says. “However, somethings things are just too good to be true.”

Minor says there are elements of truth in the fictional storyline. “Every time me and Canon get together it’s always crazy,” he says. “So ‘Over Do It’ is just a continuation of the music history that we have. The music video is pretty much us. That’s the kind of time we have. We are obviously not blowing $5 million every time we hanging out, but if we did have $5 million, I could guarantee that’s some of the stuff we would be doing.”

The song is produced by G-Roc. Canon’s Loose Canon Vol. 3 was released on Nov. 4 and includes the singles “Eagles” and “The Family”.
